By the way when I say unidentified jump, it means that I couldn’t identify the jump, not that there is anything wrong with the jump.

Sr. Ladies Free

[6th] Amy Evidente (All Year FSC )
She is fast with fast spins. Lots of dramatic dance moves in this program, and a big smile throughout. She landed a triple/double combination; a double sal; an unidentified double jump. Landed one double axel and two footed another. She also landed a double lutz and an unidentified triple, and fell once.
[1st] Amber Corwin (All Year FSC )
She has a new program to some piece of jazz music. It is a very flirty program, lots of nice dance moves. Her program has a flow to it’s presentation that none of the baby ballerinas are up to, yet. She landed a huge triple toe, triple lutz/double toe, two other triples one or both might have been loops, my notes are confusing, but she definitely landed 4 triples. She fell once and doubled the second lutz. She also landed a double axel. Clearly the best in this field.
[5th] Cohen Duncan (St. Moritz ISC )
Began the program with a Bielman spin that is most amazing because of those long legs of hers. She landed a triple sal, took extra steps before doing the double toe. She did a split jump into a popped jump and popped another jump. Double axle was fine, as was the double loop. Did a spread eagle into a double axel, another double jump and stepped out of another triple sal.
[3rd] Joan Cristobal (Peninsula SC )
Of course the crowed screamed and cheered for their favorite daughter, and she looked quite embarrassed by the adulation. She opens with diagonal footwork. She landed a triple sal and a triple toe as well as another triple/double combination that I think was triple toe. She did a waxel, and a double axel/double toe combination. She did a lutz that I think was a double and another double jump. She skated to Rachmanioff, ending with the music from Michelle’s famous short. I am sorry, but this music really belongs to Michelle and skating to it just invites comparisons that can not be flattering. She was thrilled with her performance and very sweet when I spoke to her afterwards.
[2nd] Sydne Vogel (Alaska Association of FS )
Okay this is sad. From the reigning junior lady champion to the girl who beat Tara Lipinski for that title back in 95. Skating has not been very, very good to Sydne Vogel and it is sad how many young girls have been chewed up and spit out by this sport. She landed a triple lutz/double toe combination; a double loop into a falling leaf into a toe jump I couldn’t tell the revolutions on, but she put her hand down on the landing of the toe. She did two unidentified doubles, a triple/double combination, a triple sal and a double axel. She also wobbled a bit on her flying sit spin and she did a shoot the duck. All in all I would say her presentation is much better than when we saw her last. She moves more gracefully and with better flow. I hope this is the start of good things for her.
[4th] Heidi Pakkala
Skated to the music from Henry V. She opened with a double axel, with a great exit, good speed coming out and she held the edge well. She did triple lutz/double toe; three unidentified double jumps and a single axel. She did a camel/sit/lay/change/sit spin combination. She fell on a second triple lutz and singled another axel. She ended with a camel/sit/change/sit spin combination.
