I am fading fast, I am dead on my feet. I still haven’t typed
up my notes from Jr. Ladies B, but I am going to go right into the final
report anyway. But first I have to complain about the staff at the snack
bar at the San Jose Ice Center. They spent more time flirting with
skatie girls then they did serving food. Hey the skatie girls are out of
your league, serve the food! As if!
By the way when I say unidentified jump, it means that I couldn’t
identify the jump, not that there is anything wrong with the jump.
- Emoury Boutrin
- Single axel, double jump, layback spin, then a high triple salchow.
She did a double/double jump, but then she almost fell over backwards
when do a back Y spiral. She then did a double sal, double lutz/double
loop combination and another double axel. Looks like that axel is her
nemesis. 9th place.
- Jennifer Beck
- She had powerful stroking. She landed a double lutz/double toe, then
stepped out of a triple salchow. She went into a double axel, but hit
her own leg with her other leg and ended up waxeling. (Hey I think I
invented a new word.) She stepped out of a double loop, then popped a
jump, fell on a lutz and salchow. She had a nice Kerrigan spiral that
she needs to hold longer. She skates to Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet
and stabs herself at the end of the program. 11th place
- Susannah Hall
- Landed a double loop/double loop combination, double axel/double toe
combination, and fell twice. I had to change film in the camera so I
couldn’t take complete notes on her. She has a pretty layback spin, nice
footwork with some one footed work. She also has some very nice
connecting moves in her program, including a lovely spiral and ina baur.
5th place
- Amanda-Michelle Kaufman (Escondido FSC )
- Hey girl from San Diego, well San Diego county. Cool! San Diego is my
hometown and let me tell you, ice is very hard to find there. She landed
a triple sal, then popped something; landed a double loop, a
double/double combination and a double axel. She did some leaps in her
footwork. Then she did this very, very cool move I will attempt to
describe. While skating backwards she sort of leaps up into the air,
then does a double loop/double loop combination. It looks even better
than it sounds. (I really need to be a better writer to describe some of
this stuff.) Ended with a double axel/double toe. 2nd
place.
- Darby Gaynor
- Landed a double axel and a triple sal. Did a sit/lay/change/sit spin
combination. I think a double lutz/double toe, but my notes are hard to
read here. Popped the loop jump only did a single axel and ended with a
camel/illusion spin. 8th place
- Aanya Reiten
- She is fast. She landed a triple loop, then fell on another triple.
She hit the wall and looked hurt, it took her a few seconds to recover,
but she did and went onto skate a very good program. Good for her! What
a brave skatie. She did footwork into a double lutz; two footed a triple
sal; landed an unidentified double and a double/double combination. Two
footed a double axel. Great speed throughout the program. 4th
place
- Felicia Beck
- Also very, very fast. Landed a double axel, then fell on a triple
lutz, landed another triple. Landed a triple sal/double toe and stepped
out of something else. That is all the notes I have on her, I don’t know
what happened to her second lutz. 1st place
- Kailee Watson
- Oh this is sad. She fell I think four times. I don’t have the heart
to type up my notes. She will do better next time. 10th
place
- Annah Lee
- Oh I scribbled on my notes. She did an ina baur into something, don’t
know what and has a great something I don’t know what. No wonder no one
will pay me to report this stuff. She fell on one triple and landed a
double axel. She did leaps in her circular footwork. She landed a
double, fell on the triple sal and two footed a loop jump. She has a
nice back in her sit spin. She fell again and then landed a double axel.
6th place
- Aurore Premont
- Whoah, this kid jumped up a storm. All double jumps, but after
watching so much falling this was a pleasure. She skated to West Side
Story. She landed a double lutz/double loop combination; double axel;
double loop; double/double combination, double axel, double sal, double
lutz and another unidentified double. Good job! 2nd place
- Kara Glasson
- She singled one axel and then landed a double axel/double toe
combination. She fell on a triple sal and another triple. She landed one
triple sal on two feet. She did another triple clean and a double/double
combination. 8th place.
