Junior Lady's Short Program

Anna Malkova (All Year FSC)
Music: In The Mood. Landed a double axel and a triple/double combination. Did a flying sit spin, nice back. Straightline step sequence with turns on her knees. Landed a double lutz. Change edge spirals, almost half circle on inside edge, then slightly onto outside edge with a catch foot spiral. Fast layback spin with pretty arm positions. 2nd place.
Whitney Hansley (Peninsula Skating Club)
Music: Medley of music from The Cotton Club and All That Jazz. Attempted a triple salcow/double toe combination but fell out of the triple salchow. She has good extension in her layback spin. Landed an axel jump but spun out of it. Fell out of a double lutz. 6th place
Nicole Kennedy (All Year FSC)
Music: Spanish guitar medley. Fell on a double axel. Smiled a lot, very expressive. Landed double/double combination with extra steps between the jumps. Did a catch foot spiral, another spiral with nice extension and a brief bit of Charlotte. Did a lunge in her footwork sequence and a split jump, fell on a double lutz.
Angelyn Nguyen (Glacier Falls FSC)
I fell in love with her during the warm up, she has some very nice elements. Great layback with many lovely positions and a deep arch in her back. Excellent circular steps with some one footed steps. Change edge spiral. Landed a triple/double combination and a double lutz, fell on a double axel. She is musical and has beautiful arm positions. 3rd place
Elaina Chu (Peninsula SC)
She did a nice stag leap with her toe pointed very well. Excellent serpentine step sequence into a double jump. Many positions in her layback spin. Fell on a triple jump. Popped her axel. Did many different catch spiral positions in her spiral sequence. 5th place
Stephanie Yee (St. Moritz ISC)
Skated to Paint It Black. Opened with a layback spin, landed what I think was a double lutz, fell on something else and fell on the axel. Ended with a blur scratch spin. 8th place
Caroline Zhang (All Year FSC)
Skated to an aria from some opera, I don't know which one but is the same one that Peppermint Patty skated to in She's A Good Skate Charlie Brown. Started with a beautiful, fast, really stretched layback into a Bielman spin. Landed a double axel and a triple/double combo, two footed a double lutz. Really well extended change edge spiral and a forward Charlotte. Did a very cool split jump into a spread eagle combination in her circular step sequence. Most stretched Bielman I have ever seen. 1st place
Taylor Hampton (St. Moritz ISC)
Music: Moonlight Sonata. She has pretty arm movements. She stepped out of her combination, fell out of a double lutz and two footed the axel. 7th place.
Karen Zhou (All Year FSC)
Spread eagle with nice line into a double axel. Fell on a triple salchow and got up and tagged on the double toe. Landed a double out of steps. Fast combination spin, but slowed down toward end. 4th place.
