Sr. Ladies Freeskate

I left without waiting for the results. I thought Marshall might need his momma, but after a day at Great America with his cousins he went straight to bed without even noticing I was not there. Babies growing up is so bitter-sweet. Uh, wait I was talking about skating. Anyway I didn't see the final result but Joan Cristobal clearly won this.

Laura Lipetski, Peninsula SC
She landed a triple salchow and a double axel/double toe. She landed some other double jumps but fell on a double loop. She had really nice attack in her jumps, really went after them. She did a split jump in her footwork sequence. In fact there were a lot of footwork sequences with split jumps included throughout the evening. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery Michelle.
Marie Beylin, Peninsula SC
She landed a double axel and salchow. She did a split jump into a double axel but two footed the axel. She did a back catch spiral, well extended. She landed a triple salchow/double toe combination and another double jump. She has a fast layback spin. She had a nice step sequence with little hops in it. Very nice ending combination spin with good positions and very fast.
Kristin Cederquist, Peninsula SC
I couldn't take very good notes on her, she had a nice back in her sit spin. She didn't seem to land any triples.
Maiysha Glaude, St. Moritz ISC
Fell on a double axel. She has a really cool sit spin, low down close to the ice with one leg sort of folded out in front of her. She did steps into a jump I can not identify and double lutz/double toe. She had very nice stretch in her flying sit spin. She had very flirty presentation. She did a Y spiral and a double loop, stepped out of something and did another double jump with her hands over her head. She was fast and she looked like she was having a fun time out there, despite the problems with her jumps, and that made her fun to watch.

She two footed a jump and landed a double axel with great speed coming out of that jump. She fell on a triple salchow. She is really fast and has great flow. She did a double lutz/double toe. She is lovely to watch, graceful and pretty moves. She has a beautiful spiral.

Olivia Olsen, Seattle SC
She has a very pretty camel and layback spin, very nice line. She did a double/double combination, a double salchow, a double lutz and another double jump. She finished after the music.

Abigal Alfajora, Peninsula SC
She started out with this great series of moves, she did an ina baur and a twirl then another ina baur and then a triple salchow, unfortunately she fell on the salchow. Fell on a double axel. She landed a double lutz, stepped out of a triple jump, and landed a double loop. She had good speed in her spiral sequence. She ended with three double jumps in a row, not a series but a sequence, unfortunately she stepped out of one jump and put her hand down on another. I did not get a chance to write down her marks.
Laura Gardner, Portland ISC
She skated to West Side Story. She stared out with a two footed triple salchow, then popped another jump. She had very nice layback spin, very fast and nice position. Ina Baur into a double jump. She had a nice spiral sequence. She landed a double axel two footed the double loop. And double footed another double axel. She did a great split jump in her footwork, excellent footwork sequence. All her spins were pretty and fast.

Kim Ryan, Los Angeles FSC
I haven't gotten to see her in ages, I forgot how much I love her skating. She did a double axel, then a layback spiral, very nice. She stepped out of a triple jump, she did another triple jump that was very high. Very fast footwork that included a split jump. She also did a split jump as a connecting move, she had lots of nice connecting moves. She fell on another triple, landed a double axel, did a double loop/double loop, but fell on the flying sit spin. Landed a two more double jumps. She has a captivating presence and amazing flow.

Joan Cristobal, Peninsula SC
Wow oh wow! She must have worked her behind off since Nationals. She has added some amazing jumps to her already lovely presentation. She started out with a lutz that I think was a triple. She is very fast and has a great camel spin. Landed a triple sal another triple, a triple loop, fell on another jump and landed a triple salchow/double toe combination. She also landed a double axel. She is very fast, smooth and polished. Clear and away the best skater of the day.

(Judge number seven was watching something else.)

Kara Glasson, Peninsula SC
She landed a double lutz and a triple salchow. She two footed another triple and a double jump. She fell on another triple. She did really good circular steps with a stag leap in the sequence.
