Novice Ladies Group A, Short Program

I am juggling camera and notebook today. So I don't have notes for every skater.

Mandi Joyee, St. Moritz ISC
She has gorgeous spirals with great extension, did a Charlotte. She did a pretty catch foot layback spin. She did a loop/loop combination that she double footed. Single axel and jump out of steps fine. She did this cool leap thing at the end with one leg in the air, hard to describe but it was cool. She is in 5th place.
Jacqueline Win, St. Moritz ISC
She turned out of her jump combination, she fell on what I think was a double axel, jump out of steps was fine. She is very graceful and elegant, beautiful spirals. She has beautiful arm movements. She ended the program with a full circle spread eagle, very nice. A ballerina on ice She is in 4th place.
Tosha Hanford, Capitol City FSC
She did a double axel/double toe combination, a solo single axel. She has good speed. Good circular steps and fast spins. She put her hand down on the jump out of steps. 2nd place.
Joy Siu, Stockton FSC
Single axel, lovely layback spin with pretty arms. She did a fabulous Ina Baur into an axel, but alas fell on the axel. She did a spread eagle with beautiful line into a combination spin. She leaned forward on the landing of the jump out of steps. Another ballerina on ice. 6th place
Lindsey Wilson, Lakewood Winter Club
Excellent combination jump. Catch foot layback spin. Double axel was good. Excellent spins, good speed and positions. She did the jump out of steps with her hands over her head. All her jumps were crisp and clean, the whole program was very polished and well done. 1st place
Caitlin Mallory, St. Moritz ISC
She skated to Swan Lake and started out with beautiful arm movements straight from the ballet. She did a single axel. Fell on I think a triple jump. She did an amazing layback spin with her head past her waist. Jump out of steps was fine with her hands over her head. 3rd place.

Novice Ladies B, Short Program

Jennifer Fukuto, All Year FSC
Well extended spirals. Jump out of steps was fine. She two footed the axel. She did a very nice combination spin that ended with a blur scratch. 4th place.
Sakiko Oga, Peninsula SC
Excellent combination jump. Her layback spin is so fast I wrote down "oh wow" in my notes. Jump out of steps was good, two footed the axel. 3rd place

I got really confused in my notes here, I couldn't quite make out what the announcer was saying but I think these notes are for the first place finisher Cecily Mesa - Great combination spin, double axel was fine. Her jump out of steps was okay. She is fast.

Heather Cristobal, Peninsula SC
Double axel was fine. She had some extra turns at the end of her combination jump. She has great flow, a real light touch on the ice. Lovely Nancy Kerrigan spiral. Jump out of steps was fine. 2nd place.
