2002 Novice Pairs Short

Okay by the time you get to the Novice Pairs you have already sat through Novice men and ladies. So by this time I am way too tired to take adequate notes. So these are quite sparse and I am sorry you won't get much of an understanding of the Pairs competition from me. I can say that I was very impressed by Boxwell and Sears. But of course the problem is that the minute you start to like a novice pairs team they break up. If we could get these kids to stay together as long as Tai & Randy did we might have another Tai & Randy.

Mariel Miller & David Aretz
I can't decipher all of my notes for this pair. But I can read that she stumbled out of the side by side spins and his toe pick wobbled in the death spiral. Twelfth place
Bre Ann Brown & Keith Munden
He fell on the side by side jumps and they did not have good synch in the side by side spins. Thirteenth place
Amanda Harris & David Sanders Jr.
There twist was good, he caught her with his hands and not against his body. Their side by side jumps were also good, but after landing the jump she fell, I guess she lost that landing edge. They had synch problems in their side by side spins. Fifth place
Katie Boxwell & A. William Sears
Their program was Rhapsody In Blue and they wore gorgeous blue costumes. They had a good, caught with hands twist. Their side by side jumps were good. They had nice synch. They had very nice moves and positions. First place
Jenna Yount & Grant Maroon
Their side by side double loops were good. Their side by side spins were out of synch. I liked their style. Eleventh place.
Samantha Skavdahl & Cole Davis
They had a lovely pair spiral. Their side by side loops were fine. Eighth place.
Tatiana Klunchoo & Manny Gardner
They skated to the music from Chocolat. They should have given us chocolate, you can't put the word chocolate in my mind after hours of skating without giving me any J. Their side by side loops were fine. She is a cutie pie. They had a very nice pair spin, lovely arm positions. Good synch. But their twist was caught against his body. I wrote down wobbled in the death spiral, but I didn't write down which one wobbled. Sixth place
Lindsey Seitz & Andy Seitz
If you were to ask me which pair has the best future I would say the Seitz's. Not because of how any team skated, but just cause our brother and sister teams stay together. The side by side loops were good. They were very fast. They had good synch in the side by side spins. She had an awkward position in the death spiral. Ninth place
Sheila Harkaway & Brandon Larcom
They had nice flow and were very good and that is all the notes I have which makes me think this was when Marshall stopped sitting in his seat and sat in my lap instead. Fourth place.
Colleen Okolski & Benjamin Okolski
Another brother and sister team, there is hope for the future. They had a nice lift with great speed. The side by side loops were good. The twist was very good, she had good height, he caught her with his hands. They were very dramatic. Third Place
Brittany Vise & Nicholas Kole
Second place. Okay it was getting late and I was tired and Marshall was getting antsy so all I have for them is the words well done and all I have for Veronica Hill & Gregory Benton is good high twist and loops good. Sixth place.
Shantel Jordan & Jeremy Barrett
I wrote big high twist and then scribbled something I can't read. The jumps were okay. They did a flip out dismount from the lift. Then I wrote something else that I can not possibly read. Tenth place
