Novice Lady's Short Program
For those who are visiting Cat's Lair for the first time, here is my
disclaimer. I can't always tell what a jump is, hence the constant
references to a triple or a double, if I know the jump and see it
clearly I report it. Just cause I don't say a jump is a triple lutz,
doesn't mean it wasn't one.
- Jillian Asby
- She skated to a jazzy version of the Nutcracker Suite.
Her double axel was okay, she did a triple/double combination and a
double loop out of three turns. She had nice spin positions. 7th
- Katherine Hadford
- Hey is this girl Swiss or what? She had fabulous
spins, very reminiscent of those great Swiss spinning girls Natalie
Krieg and Lucinda Ruh. She opened with an amazing layback spin, deep
arch in her back, perfect arm and freeleg positions, centered and very
fast. The spin kept going on and on and she pulled her leg up to a catch
foot position, astounding. Unfortunately she fell on the triple salchow.
She had very well extended spirals that I wish she would hold a little
longer. Her double axel was okay and she did an Ina Baur into a double
jump with her hands over head. She had great spins with great positions,
very fast and well centered. I would have thrown her a bear if not for
the evil new security regs that will not stop terrorists but will make
skaters and fans sad. 9th
- Anna Peng
- She completed a triple/double combination, though the jumps
stopped dead at landing. Her double axel was ok. She has a lovely sit
spin with a beautiful back. Her combination spin was very good, included
a Bielman and she had good positions in her spin and it was fast. 4th
- Lisa Dannemiller
- She started out with a pretty layback spin. Her
double axel was fine as was her triple/double combination. I wrote very
clean next to then notes on her jump so I think it was well done. She
has nice extension in her spiral, and nice posture. Ended her
combination spin with a shotgun spin. 2nd
- Sarah Henry
- She did a triple loop/double toe combination. Had a shaky
landing on the loop. She stepped out of the double axel. Her jump out of
steps was fine and she had a lot of personality and expression. 13th
- Alicia Heelan
- Skated to a symphonic Beatles medley. Her double axel
was fine, she fell on the triple salchow. She did a good sit spin with
her hands behind her back, very fast. She had difficult steps going into
her solo double jump, which was fine. 11th
- Erica Arachmabault
- Skated to the Last Emperor. The double axel was
fine. She fell on the triple salchow. She did a Charlotte spiral. I am
sorry I don't have any more notes on her. 5th
- Sandra Jean Rucker
- Very pretty program, skated very lovely. Sandra has
the most beautiful arm movements, very balletic. Her double axel was
good, but she fell on her triple salchow. She did three turns into a
double jump that was nice. Very graceful skating. 12th
- Danielle Khale
- Cute little red head with a bundle of charm. She was
unfortunately wearing the exact same dress that Tara Lipinski wore in
her Walking on Sunshine program. She skated to Saber Dance
and actually
managed to keep up with the music. She did a triple/double combination
and a double axel and her jump out of steps was fine. She was very fast
throughout the program. 1st
- Natalie Mecher
- She had good height on her double axel. She landed
triple sal/double toe and double loop just fine. Her jumps all had good
height and flow going in and coming out of the jumps. 3rd
- Erica Washington
- She landed a triple salchow/double toe combination.
She also landed a double axel and a double loop out of steps. In her
double loop she had her hands rounded around her sides. She had a cute
smile. 8th
- Lindsey Wilson
- Skated to the soundtrack from Sense and Sensibility, a
very nice program. She landed a triple/double combination and a double
axel and double loop. That makes no sense cause she was 6th, maybe I
missed something in my note taking. Anyway she very nice flow, moved
very lightly over the ice. 6th
- Ashley Ann Lovasik
- Landed a triple sal/double toe, double axel and did
three turns into a double loop. She moved well to the music and she has
a beautiful back. And again I must have missed something because my
notes don't match her placement. 10th
