2006 Pacific Coast Sectional Championship

Roseville, CA

I was sick in Roseville, so I didn't talk a lot of notes and those I did take are not very complete. So for what is worth here are my notes heavily influenced by cold medicine. Gee it's good they don't drug test the fans.

The scores I am listing are the ones that were announced in the rink after the skater finished. Sometimes these scores were changed after the event. So if the scores I post and the scores the USFSA posted are different that is the reason why.

Novice Lady's Free

Mia Hamano
She has great expression, I enjoyed her program.
Sophia Adams
She skated to My Fair Lady and she was dressed just like Sasha did a few years ago complete with tiara. She has nice flow. She smiled a lot and looked like she was having such a good time. Fun to watch.
Rachel White
She smiled a lot. She reminded me of Sarah Hughes only with better posture.
Lindsay Quon, St. Moritz Ice Skating Club
She landed a double axel/double toe and got a big smile. Landed a triple sal/double combination. Landed a double lutz/double loop/double loop series. Did a Back catch spiral into a double axel landed with a hop hop. Landed a triple salchow. Smiled a lot throughout the program.

Lauren-Marie Simm, Glacier Falls FSC
Landed a double axel with a wild free leg. Landed a triple sal, fell on something. She did a Sasha skid in her spiral sequence. Landed a double axel/double toe and another double with a wild landing. Did a half Charlotte into a double jump.

Victoria Rackohn, All Year Figure Skating Club
She has great transitions. Landed a triple salchow. She did a step sequence including a split jump into a double axel/double toe. Smiling a lot. Landed a double/double combination. Spiral and steps into a double/double combination. Catch foot layback into a Bielman spin. Charlotte into a double axel. She has the most amazing jump entrances. Almost every jump was preceded by steps or Moves in the Field. Her program was sensational.

Tech scores 29.54 PCS 43.65 Free Total 73.19 Overall 110.20

Laney Diggs, All Year Figure Skating Club
Landed a double axel. Did a triple salchow/double toe combination, and spun out of the sal. Landed a double loop, fell on a double axel, landed a triple salchow. Did some swining kicks and an illusion during her footwork sequence. Very cute smile at the end of her program.

Tech score 26.94 PCS 40.50 Free Total 66.44 Overall 98.05

Kelicie Lee, St. Moritz Ice Skating Club
Music was Firebird. Did a single axel/double toe combination. Fell on a triple salchow. Had great height on a double lutz. Landed a double loop/double loop. She is fast. Landed a triple toe and another double jump. She had good speed in the footwork sequence that included a lunge and high kick.

Chrissy Hughes, Highland
She landed a triple jump. She fell on a triple salchow. She has good speed. Landed a double jump and a triple salchow/double toe combination. She landed a double axel/double toe combination. She did a very impressive jump series Double flip/falling leaf/3 turn/double flip/double loop.
