Rain rain go away little skating fans want to playRain rain go away little skating fans want to play! Sigh! Vancouver is living up to it’s wet reputation, it is cold and wet and though there are a lot of sites we would love to see, we aren’t going to get to see any of them this way. Marshall the wonder baby is amassing admirers throughout Canada. Everyone wants to meet him and give him treats. It wasn’t bad enough being spoiled in America, the kid has to be spoiled internationally. We got to some men’s practices today. But I was not up for any note taking. So I will tell you some general things. Todd may be our past and Timmy may be our present, but we fans are living in the past. Todd got a huge ovation when his name was announced and a partial standing O after he skated. He didn’t land a quad in his run through, he did a bunch in warm up though. When he took his goodbye bow he did a very blurry blur spin and got another huge ovation. We love you Todd! Timmy got polite applause. He did land one quad/triple in his run through, but fell on his opening quad sal. His footwork looked good though and got the crowd excited. The New Zealand skater did a death drop that was sensational, good height and beautiful extension. Vitali Danilchenko of the Ukraine had some really cool, original spin positions. I didn’t see all of Takeshi Honda’s run through, but what I saw looked very good and he got a lot of applause from the crowd. The Latvian skater did a beautiful full circle spread eagle with lovely extension. I also liked Roman Sikornov (sp.) |
