The rink was packed and I had to grab something to eat. I could not
take notes for almost all of the first flight and some of my note taking
got messed up throughout the event. People were climbing in and out of
the benches during people skates which is so rude I can't even believe
it. I have taught Marshall since he could walk, never walk around when
people are skating. And I had tons of alleged grown ups climbing around
the benches during skater's programs. SHAME ON ALL OF THEM!!! So my
notes are not good and non-existent for many skaters.
- Priscella Chan
- She skated to E.T. which isn't used very
often and works very well for skating. She did a lovely spread eagle to
the crescendo of the music. She has great expression and flow and that
is all the note I could get for her. 19th in free
and 18th overall.
- Nina Lam
- She has a very stretched Bielman spin. She did a circular spiral
sequence and held a forward spiral for almost a full circle, very nice.
She landed a triple salchow with kind of a hop afterward, a double axel
and a double axel double axel combo. She also landed a double jump
series right at the crescendo of the music. 10th in
free and 12th overall
- Olivia Olsen
- She has lovely arm movements, a lovely sit spin. She has nice line
and a very well held spiral. She got two triple jumps done, but singled
one axel. 16th in free and overall
- Erin Reed
- Wow what a great dancer on ice. She interprets the music and puts in
so many musical connecting steps her programs are jam packed with
entertainment. Unfortunately she is coming off an injury and her jumps
are not back yet. She did a great sweeping Ina Baur and her footwork was
fast, musical and difficult. 12th in the free and
14th overall
- Karina Thimester
- She landed at least two triples including a triple sal/double toe.
13th in the free and overall.
- Dallas Daniel
- She has nice edges and a good footwork run. 11th
in free and overall
- Tenile Victorsen
- Music is from Rachmaninoff. She fell on a triple lutz and two footed
a different triple, she also fell on a triple loop. She gote at least
one clean triple done and a hand down on a triple, but singled an axel.
She has lovely, very stretched spin positions and lovely expression. She
did a cool twirly leap in her footwork. She interprets music well. 9th in free and overall
- Danielle Kahle
- She doubled a toe and fell on a triple loop. She landed at least 4
other triples including a triple salchow and a triple loop/double toe.
Her new free skate is to Carmen and she did a
great job with the character. Playing the bad girl seems to really bring
out the life in Danielle, first in Kill Bill and now with Carmen, she
was more musical and more fun. Nice stretch in her moves, very intricate
footwork. Lots of fiery Carmen attitude.

Sorry after Danielle I couldn't take notes till the final flight.
- Laney Diggs
- Her new program is to Les Miserables and
she does such a great job interpreting the music. She has wonderful
expression and lots of connecting steps right to the music. Laney was
really on at this event and was great fun to watch. She landed triple
lutz/double toe, triple sal, another triple, double axel into double
axel, fell on one jump, stepped out of a triple sal/double toe and
landed a double axel. Very good performance from Laney. 4th in free and 3rd overall
- Angelyn Nguyen
- Music was some sort of disco Four
Seasons. She is very fast and has great ice coverage. She landed
a triple lutz/double toe, triple salchow, double axel/double toe,
stepped out of a triple, doubled another jump and landed another double
axel. 3rd in free and 4th overall
- Caroline Zhang
- Music is Sleeping Beauty. Landed a triple
lutz/triple toe, triple flip/double toe, a double axel, a solo triple
lutz, triple loop, triple salchow and a triple loop/double toe/double
loop. The program is very graceful, very musical. She has a wonderful
footwork run with some adorable expression and great steps. As always
amazing spins. She has added more life to her skating, more graceful,
much faster and a bit more power in her jumps. She looks world class.
- Anna Malkova
- She landed a triple lutz, triple loop, a triple/double combo, a
double axel with great flow in and out, another triple/double and fell
on some jump. She is very fast and has great ice coverage. 5th in free and overall
- Karen Zhou
- Skate to the tragically underused Grand Canyon
Suite, the music suits her well and she interpreted it well. She
landed more jumps than I think I have in my notes; double axel/triple
toe two footed, triple loop, a triple jump a triple lutz, a triple I
couldn't see because it was behind the photographer (hi George) but I
could tell from the applause she landed. She has wonderful expression,
great stretch and very long held spiral. Very enjoyable performance.
2nd in free and overall
- Sophia Adams
- Sophia is very graceful and expressive skater, but unfortunately her
jumps weren't there for her this event. She did three turns into a
triple loo and stepped out of another triple loop, but she popped a few
other jumps. She has the most lovely arm movements, and lovely
connecting steps. 7th in free and overall
